Civil rights? What Civil Rights???

When you walk into the door of the airport, be advised that the Constitution and Bill of Rights no longer apply. The airport is only the begining of the New World Order/Police State that we are becoming right before our very eyes.

The most disturbing part is that only about half of Americans are concerned enough to take action. According to a new Zogby poll, only 48% of potential voters said that they would seek alternative travel methods in avoidance of the Big Sis groping and virtual strip searches. 61% said they oppose the new policies, but air travel was up 3% this Thanksgiving, so even people that oppose it are still flying anyway.

The latest humiliation story involves a woman that reported that she was subjected to a more invasive pat down search after the body scan revealed her pantyliner... No, this is not a joke. Apparently, feminine hygene products can be confused with or mistaken for some breach of homeland security.


There are even a large number of people publicly defending and even advocating this surrender of your rights! I can't count the number of comments to articles that suggest that anyone that opposes the TSA fondling/virtual strip search should simply not fly. There is no Constitutional Right to fly, so the pro-TSA crowd thinks I should not fly if I want to protect my Constitutional Protection against an unwarranted search.

I think the people that should stop flying are the paranoid people that think we should all surrender our rights at the gate. Big Sis is already hinting that boats, trains and subways are next. If you think that every person should be strip searched and/or felt up in order to get on a plane, don't fly.

Frankly, if you really believe this is necessary for your safety, then don't fly until they are strip searching EVERYONE and conducting FULL BODY CAVITY searches; because the planes are not any safer today than they were two months ago. Anyone that has worked in law enforcement will tell you that the current TSA policy has so many holes in it that it approaches meaninglessness. In fact, I would suggest that is makes you less safe because they are so busy searching everyone that has had a hip or knee replacement that they will miss the real terrorists.

I am happy to return to resume my ranting. I have been out of pocket because... frankly, everything this administration has done gives me a headache and miserable!

However, it is time to resume the fight!!! They are completely ignoring the Constitution of the United States!

I do not fly often, but had hoped to eventually go to Australia, Isreal and had existing plans to return to Maui every ten years with my husband for our 20th, 30th, 40th, etc... anniversaries! Hoped to visit family in Maryland and Pennsylvania in the next year or so.. NOT NOW!

I am sure that by now you have all heard about the new TSA policies on the backscatter and pat-downs. Anyone that sets off the regular metal detector or any of the people selected for the random search is asked to go through the backscatter x-ray; which is a virtual strip search. Now before you get your panties all in a wad, you can "opt-out" of the strip search, but then you just volunteered for a very invasive "pat down". The pat down includes fondling your breasts or testicles (which ever is applicable).

Now if that isn't enough to make you head explode, this will. Everybody that has had knee replacements, or any other surgical procedure that required metal to permanently placed in the body sets off the metal detectors. SOOOOO TSA is spending all their time patting down elderly people and Veterans. Nice huh?? There have been several horror stories pop out one by one. A picture of a four year old little boy being strip searched, a man whose clostomy bag was spilled on him, a flight attendant that was instructed to remove her prosthetic breast that she uses because she is a breast cancer survivor, etc... These are just a few examples of TSA abuses and these are probably the worst of them, so far...

I can, without trying, think of about five ways to get around this crap, but I won't share them online. My point is that this is not making anyone safer. It merely gives the appearance of trying to have security, but in reality it doesn't. The terrorists are watching the news and they simply adjust their plans of attack to counter our counter-terrorism measures.

Call your Senators and Representatives!! This is a Constitutional Issue and don't let anyone tell you it is not. Remind the politicians that this is the United States, not Russia and that they all swore anoath to uphold the Constitution!

Clarification

I received a comment about the previous post that seemed to be reading too much into the last post with regard to the wording in the first principal - America is good.

Let me be clear about this - first - I copied the list from the Glenn Beck website to share his information about the 9/12 Project with ya'll. Second, I do believe that in general America is good. I do not have blind faith in or worship the American government or any politicians whatsoever!!

I believe in the principals this country was built on and am grateful that I live in a country that allows me to express my opinion without fear of arrest or public flogging for disagreeing with Obama. I am grateful that I live in a country that allows me to worship Jesus Christ and does not force me to follow something else. My worship is reserved for my Father in Heaven - not for men, government or possessions. I have tried to keep this blog less about religion and more about the direction our country is taking. I know that not everyone shares my faith in Jesus, but all that live in America are effected by the American Government. That is what this blog is about.

People that have been following this blog know that I have been pulling my hair out about our government and are not likely to think I have blind faith in the government or America - but perhaps new people might think otherwise. Texas Tea Parties!!

YEEEHAAAW! People in Denton, Texas are mad as hell and still polite as they can be about it!! The Tea Party in Denton was a huge success as were the other Tea Parties across the country! On tax day the Department of Homeland Security issued a report about terrorist activity in the US: however, the terrorists that Janet Nepolitano was referring to include: opponents of ILLEGAL immigration, abortion opponents and VETERANS!! Of course, she has since issued an insincere apology. That makes it okay...

Plus, The LA Times categorized Tea Party participants as "STEEPED IN INSANITY"; the Washington Post called us "nutjobs" and a CNN remote correspondant covering the Chicago Tea Party said that it was "not family viewing" and threw it back to NY because she was being called out on her refusal to allow a man to finish his sentence when asked why he was there and the issue of her arguing the Obama talking points with they guy. Since when do "reporters" argue with the man on the street??

I just consider the source of the name calling and - you know - it encourages me!! It means that they are unable to keep ignoring us and are afraid that we may succeed in drawing attention to the REAL insanity. People that have not been paying attention are starting to notice the problems and the runaway train of irresponsible spending. People are starting to notice that Congress is trying to side step the Constitution in their attempt to federalize EVERYTHING.

Why is removing tattoos on LA gang members a federal taxpayer responsibility??

How did smelly pigs in Iowa become the responsibility of Texas and Tennessee??

Why is Georgia expected to pay for the Miami Orange Bowl parking upgrade??

How did Virginia and Maryland get put on the hook for a museum dedicated to the mafia??

It's TAX TIME!!

I know I have been gone awhile... Honestly, I am so sickened by the news and the state of our country that I have quit watching any news and have avoided any media that I know will just give me a headache and thoroughly tee me off. This all has me so disgusted and upset that I had to just stop paying attention - I feel so helpless - at least until the next ELECTION when we can serve Obama with an eviction notice!

It is time for the TEA PARTIES!! I encourage everyone to put in an appearance at the nearest TEA PARTY. I am a government employee and our local one is during office hours; sooo, several co-workers and myself are marching to another nearby county having one after work to protest BAILOUTS, HIGHER TAXES and FISCAL IRRESPONSIBILY!! I will be on the Denton, Texas townsquare, Wednesday, April 15 as an angry taxpayer!! I hope some of you can join us in Denton or another TEA PARTY close to where you live!

It sure did not take Obama long to figure out he was making a huge mistake asking veterans to pay for their own insurance to cover military service related injuries once they returned home. Thank God he came to his senses on this one - at least for now. Don't assume he is not going to bring it back up later.

What I can not wrap my brain around is that OBAMA wanted to stop paying for medical for the vets, but wants to keep handing out BILLIONS of dollars in corporate BAILOUTS. I thought he was supposed to be about the people and not about big business... Isn't this what the Dems are always saying about the Republicans... that they are controlled by big business?? Besides I thought Obama wanted to pay for EVERY BODY'S medical. This guy keeps talking out both sides of his mouth and does not seem to grasp that some of us remember news items and policy decisions from one day to the next.

I have tried to give Obama the benefit of the doubt. I did not vote for him. I never thought he would be a good president, but I truly hoped that I would be pleasantly surprised by him; unfortunately this has not been the case.

OBAMA is an incompetent boob!! Yes, I finally said it!! BOOB, BOOB, BOOB - Obama is a boob!! How this moron ever managed to fool so many people during the election is entirely beyond me. He is incredibly inexperienced and clearly has no understanding about finance, world affairs (did you hear about the cheesy dollar store DVDs he gave to a head of state and embarrassed the country) or real people.

Even the Obama cheer team is losing faith. His approval rating are dropping. according to Rasmussen the people that "strongly approve" is dropping and the people that "strongly disapprove" is rising. Strangely, he is still winning the approval of the majority of Americans. I don't get it but it appears that he is going to enjoy his free pass for a while longer, but things are already unraveling - when it actually falls completely apart, what are they going to say then???

I am completely perplexed at the response of the Congress. I have said it before, but a person does not have to have an MBA to see that this strategy of blindly throwing money at failing companies is the most moronic, irresponsible thing they could possibly have done.

When my children ask permission to do something, I ask questions and require a 48 hour window between the request and the event to allow time to look into what it is they want to do. I may just be an ignoramous in the eyes of Congress, but my house and cars will be paid in full within 3 years and all my credit cards are already paid in full and have been for quite a while. My husband and I will be completely debt free before I am 45 years old. My children are not doing drugs and spend their time with smart kids with nice parents. I am not in denial or blind to my children's doings - I am diligent in verifying and checking up on things. In my opinion Congress could take a lesson from every good mother in the US.

Congress has pushed through bill after bill amounting to roughly $2,063,800,000,000 in the first 50 DAYS (not months or years - DAYS) of this administration without taking any time to research a damn thing because Nancy Pelosi was in a hurry to go to Rome.

Was this the kind of change that people were hoping for??

President Obama says AIG's plan to pay out $165 million in bonuses is "hard to understand."

AIG is FINALLY going to be facing a criminal investigation. Still not by the Attorney General of the United States, but by NY AG Andrew Cuomo. Hey, at least there will FINALLY be a criminal investigation...

All I can say is.. IT'S ABOUT TIME!! I have been calling for this for quite a while. Maybe if they opened an investigation sooner they could have save the TAXPAYERS some bucks.

I just hope it does not stop with AIG! There are too many big businesses handing out huge bonuses for executives running failing businesses.

Here is what Liddy (AIG CEO) had to say in defense of this BS. "I do not like these arrangements and find it distasteful and difficult to recommend to you that we must proceed with them...Honouring contractual commitments is at the heart of what we do in the insurance business. "

Hmmm. Not really impressed since we the taxpayers are paying for this crap when I am working through Spring Break and can't take my family on a vacation.

FEAR MONGERING

Have you noticed how frequent Obama says the word "crisis" when speaking about the current state of the economy?

During the election, Democrats accused Republicans of "fear mongering" in reference to the Republican position that they were the best choice when it comes to Homeland Security issues. Frankly, NO ONE is dealing with Homeland security - our southern border is wide open and the whole world knows it. I believe that the Dems are also "fear mongering". Everytime Obama, Pelosi or any high ranking Dem steps in front of the podium, they are pushing for some big spending bill to save us from the financial "crisis" we are facing. Everytime they do, the market drops even more. Everytime they talk about the dire straits of the market, people are holding tighter and tighter on their wallets.

The Dems are using the financial problems as an excuse to obtain taxpayer money for every pet project they ever dreamed of and they are scaring people into going along with them. They have actually convinced people across the country that the only way to save the country from economic failure is for the Feds to swoop in and "rescue" us.

It is a load of crap!!

There is another way. If the DOJ would go in and break up all the HUMONGOUS corporations, there would be room in the market for independant business' to grow and thrive. I can not just go out an open a grocery store in Texas - I could not compete with Walmart, Albertsons or other large chains. They have been allowed to grow so big that they would kill me in advertising and their ability to buy in larger quantities allows them to purchase products at a discounted rate that a small independant can not.

If the Justice Department would break up the large corporations this would impriove the economy in two ways. First, the independants could rise up again and survive in the market. Second, it would prevent the economy from becoming so dependant on certain businesses for survival. If Ford were a much smaller company and went belly up, the nation would not be devastated. If AIG was a small business, instead of the huge boil on the country's a$$ that it really is, we would not feel any obligation to BAIL THEM OUT four or five times in a six month time period.

Our system, as originally intended, would have been great!! However, companies have been allowed to grow so big that the entire economy rests on a handful of businesses.

I say BREAK THEM UP. Make Walmart sell off the majority of stores. Make AIG split into different businesses - they are into a boatload of different enterprises. Split them up!! The failing parts will die off, the better parts will continue on. There will be opportunity for more individuals to prosper, more businesses to rise up and all the money in the country would not be in the hands of 4% of the people.

Don't let the Dems scare you into a socialist system of governement. The more control we hand over to the politicians, the more control they have over our lives!!

Has anybody else noticed that every time another BAILOUT is announced the market drops to new and exciting lows? The DOW has dropped to below 7000 after the AIG announcement this AM. Every attempt of Big Brother to fix things, they get worse.

It is mind boggling to me that Washington seems oblivious to the pattern of:
give AIG money, the market tanks, give them some more money, the market drops some more, give them MORE money, the market just keeps on dropping, so ... let's give them SOME MORE MONEY.




I have said this before, but this saying applies to so many things: you can't keep pulling peanut butter and jelly out of the cabinet and expect a ham sandwich to pop out of the mix. IF WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS NOT WORKING - DO SOMETHING ELSE!!

It reminds me of those women that wonder why they never have a relationship with a man that works, but they keep going out with the same kind of guy. You know, married, met him in a bar, whatever...

It has gotten so ridiculous that I am not even going to bash on AIG. Hey, why walk away from a good thing? Every time AIG CEO Liddy holds out his little hand, the Feds fill it with more cash. Why would AIG stop doing what they are doing??? Everyday is Christmas at AIG!!

I thought Obama was going to save us from the Bush administration. So far his administration is such a colossal disaster that I cannot see him lasting for a second term. The probelm is that he can do a hell of a lot of damage before he goes.


This is precisely why I am opposed to government run health care. If they take over, half the country will probably die within 24 months. So unless we can arrange for that half to include the least reasonable and least responsible people of society...

Did you see his speech to Congress?? He actually said that he is "proud that we passed a recovery plan free of earmarks". WHAT??? WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS KIDDING?? The "recovery" (BAILOUT) plan has an earmark for $200K for - get this - TATTOO REMOVAL! Just whose tattoos are we removing and why are the taxpayers paying for it?? Was somebody tattooed against his or her will??? I always thought that tattoos are expensive and that people got them because they wanted them.

More distubing than the tattooo removal, is that OBAMA said his incredible spending bill was free of these earmarks that actually make up about 2/3 of the bill. If he actually believes this then he is dumber than Democrats ever thought Bush was ... or he is a PATHOLOGICAL LIAR.

To stand in front of Congress and blatantly say something so fundamentaly untrue is beyond me. It reminds me of Clinton denying he "had sex with that woman" and asked for a "definition" of the work sex. The fact that he asked for the definition should have been response enough for anybody to see that he had, in my opinion.

I must say that Obama is not as good at it as others I have seen. Good liars make it sound enough like truth to avoid any question - Obama's claim is so incredible that it defies all logic that ANYBODY would believe there are no earmarks in that ENORMOUS SPENDING BAILOUT. He doesn't even bother to make it sound true. His MO is to make it sound so good people WANT it to be true.

College for everybody!! Cure for Cancer!! Free health care for everybody!! Fix Social Security!! WEEEE... It all sounds great on the surface, but is absurd and unrealistic.

It is so ridiculous that even as angry as I am, I laughed when I heard him say it and (Thank God for DVD) had to replay it. Will anybody notice?? When will the disciples realize that he is selling snake oil?

The only other alternative is that he does not know how to define "earmark". Perhaps someone should tell him...

I have been so frustrated that I have actually been avoiding the news lately. I know that I should keep up with what the leadership of this country is doing, but I am so disgusted that I can not stand anymore.

However, I almost spit Diet Coke all over my compluter when I saw this:

Its funny that he sees Social Security as a "pressing" issue now, after the dems fought so hard to stop President Bush from trying to deal with Social Security when he was President.

I am dying to know when the President is going to impliment his "pay as you go" policy?? Seeing as he just signed the BIGGEST SPENDING BILL IN HISTORY and points to the debt he inherited from the previous administration.

Does anybody see any possible way for him to halve the national debt?? My degree is in an unrelated field, so maybe I am missing a part of the plan... REALLY! ANYBODY THAT CAN HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHAT HE IS DOING, HELP ME OUT HERE!!

The only story above that is not in America is the 13 year old father... It appears that this child and the child mother, both have supportive families and that while incredibly tragic that these two children have forsaken their own childhood, they are trying to not compound one mistake with more.

The woman that deliberately has conceived 14 children that she in incapable of supporting and taking care of is clearly unstable and mentally OFF. The doctor that helped to do this should be held financially liable for the care of these children. He and this crazy woman have taken IRRESPONSIBILITY to a whole new level. They may not have broken any laws, but this is easily the most thoughtless and selfish thing I have ever heard. Why should the taxpayers be on the hook for this? My biggest question is how did she PAY for the implantation of these embryos. I have had friends that sought fertility treatment and it is not cheap and it is a voluntary medical procedure - not usually covered by medicaid or whatever California welfare medical plan is available.

How about Nancy Pelosi and the Dems promise to allow 48 hours for Congress to review the bill, then breaking the promise because Pelosi was leaving for ROME?? No one, not even the DEMS had a chance to read the 1,071 pages on the largest spending bill in American history. The package includes $308.3 billion in new spending, $267 billion for social services, and $212 billion for tax breaks. Most pundits are in agreement that when they force something through this fast - there is something in it they don't want us to know about before it is signed. My position is that in this case, we already know the worst, but they know that the longer it is scrutinized, the more opposition surfaces - even within their own ranks. Dems were beginning to change their votes and public opinion was rapidly shifting to the conservative.

Senator Burris, IL - has now confirmed that Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich asked Burris through a third party, Blago's brother, for $10,000. This would have been important to know BEFORE Burris was confirmed. Seems a bit disingenuous of Burris to bring it out NOW.

NO MORE PEANUT BUTTER! Man, it is a sad, sad day in America when a PBJ can be a deadly weapon!! The people that caused all this sickness and death by allowing salmonella tainted peanuts and peanut products to be shipped and used in food have filed for bankruptcy protection from lawsuits and creditors. Too bad for them, they cannot get the same protection from the criminal charges most certainly coming down the pipe. I hope they are charged with murder in the death cases. There are different options, but a 1ST degree murder charge is appropriate. HOW GREEDY DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO ALLOW POISONOUS FOOD TO BE SERVED TO CHILDREN?? Face it, who is the largest consumer of peanut butter?? KIDS! The person or people responsible deserve to spend the rest of their lives in prison or if eligible, the death penalty. Can they be tried in TEXAS?

I have noticed a pattern in most of these BAD BEHAVIOR headlines. Most of this BAD BEHAVIOR is rooted in selfishness. Congress is not thinking about what is best for this country - if they were they would not be spending us into the Twilight Zone and trying to convince us that it is going to stimulate the economy. Every time they inched closer to this atrocity, the DOW plummeted. Every time Obama speaks publicly about this BAILOUT, public opinion sinks lower and lower.

The crazy Octuplet Mom wanted these children since she was a child herself, so she had them. She shows no concern about how she is going to care for and pay for raising these babies. She was already receiving welfare benefits. She did not care about paying for them because she figured that the taxpayers would pick up the bill. Even with welfare benefits, these babies are all going to be in high school at the same time, going to prom, graduating, preparing for college at the same time. What is she going to tell her FOURTEEN kids at Christmas?? She does not mind being a burden to her parents or the taxpayers, she wanted fourteen children - so she had fourteen children! No worries - logistics be damned!!

I am getting sicker by the day about the state of this country. No one is responsible, half the country wants the government to swoop in and save the day and appears completely blind to the fact that abdicating our responsibility is also abdicating our freedom and independence. Look around people!! When you become dependant - you are no longer INDEPENDENT!!

Hooray, some sanity emerging!!! And some NOT!

I saw a report today that the FBI is investigating multiple businesses that have been recipiants of the BAILOUT money!! It seems that they have been investigating for a while, but it escaped my attention - probably because I have been too lightheaded over the astronomical amounts of OUR money that Congress is giving away!! I cannot wait for the arrests to begin!!!

Now for the insanity: Earlier this week, Senator Chuck Schumer had this to say, "For the first time, New Yorkers can feel proud and walk tall, because the federal government is coming to our aid." Yeah, New York, you blew it and so we the taxpayers are BAILING YOU OUT - feel proud!! Since when is a BAILOUT something ANYBODY should feel proud of needing??

He also had this to say in the interim when the BAILOUT was being debated, "...and let me say this, to all the chattering class - so much focuses on those little, tiny - yes, porky amendments - the American people really don't care..."

Notice those words - little and tiny - he is referring to the $886,000 for the Frisbee Golf Park in Austin, the $500,000 for a dog park in California, the $50 MILLION for a Mob Museum in Las Vegas - you know these tiny items.

It also includes these items on the wish list published by the Wall Street Journal:
A wish list that is 11,391 projects strong! What vital infrastructure projects would cash-strapped taxpayers get for their $73 billion? Here's a sampling:

- Hercules, Calif., wants $2.5 million in hard-earned taxpayer money for a "Waterfront Duck Pond Park," and another $200,000 for a dog park.

- Euless, Texas, wants $15 million for the Midway Park Family Life Center, which, you'll be glad to note, includes both a senior center and aquatic facility. (Hey, at least it is for PEOPLE, not ducks and dogs!)

- Natchez, Miss., "needs" a new $9.5 million sports complex "which would allow our city to host major regional and national sports tournaments."

- Henderson, Nev., is asking for $20 million to help "develop a 60 acre multi-use sports field complex."

- Brigham City, Utah, wants $15 million for a sports park.

- Arlington, Texas, needs $4 million to expand its tennis center. (Arlington should just get Jerry Jones to pay for this, since it is no big deal...)

- Miami, Fla., needs $15 million for a "Moore Park Community Center, Tennis Center and Day Care" facility. The city is also desperate for $3.6 million to build a covered basketball court and a new tennis court at Robert King High Park. Then there's the $94 million Orange Bowl parking garage you are being asked to pay for.

- La Porte, Texas, wants $7.6 million for a "Life Style Center." (What the Hell is a Life Style Center??

- Oakland, Calif., needs $1 million for Fruitvale Latino Cultural and Performing Arts Center.

I am not sure what angers me the most... Chuck Schumer referring to these millions of taxpayer dollars as "little" and "tiny" or the bureaucrats coming out of the woodwork with their grubby little hands out begging for US to pay for their pet projects.

Schumer's comments are sooo indicative of the attitude in DC about money. To them, a few million here and a few million there is completely insignificant.

To US - the people paying the bill, it is a very big deal.

Was anybody watching Obama a couple of nights ago addressing the Dems about this BAILOUT or as the media have dubbed it - the "SPENDULOUS BILL"? It was excrutiating!! He is actually defending the 9 and 10 figure doling out for pet projects, such as - the MOB MUSEUM - yes, as in John Gotti, Al Capone - Mob, more money for ACORN (whom you may remember from the election committing voter fraud - of course I have heard nothing about prosecution in any of those instances!) and a Frisbee Golf Park. Obama said this, "The scale and scope of this plan is right." The scale is a whopping $800,000,000,000 of taxpayer money. The scope is bailout money plus crazy pet projects thrown in to supposedly create jobs. I volunteer to work at the Frisbee Golf Park!! There is more spending for pork in this bill than so-called stimulus and it is an absolute outrage.

The only thing that does make me laugh (just a little) is that they are killing a rainforrest with the sheer size of the Democrats proposed bill. It is 647 pages and weighs about seven pounds according to one journalist. Each congressman/woman gets a copy. Not that this is actually funny, but I have to wonder, where is the "Global Warming" crowd while this is going on? In the interest of saving the earth, I propose that Congress not print these anymore and just use a download on the Congrssional Laptops. Additionally, the media and whoever else gets copies should receive electronic versions as well.

It is going to pass thanks to YANKEE RINOS - Arlen Spector from PA and Susan Collins of Maine. They have sided with the Dems. I wonder how much payoff money is going to their states.



ATTENTION MICHAEL STEELE: As long as you are cleaning house and making radical changes to the party, let me share this insight with you as a voter, taxpayer and average citizen.
REPUBLICAN VOTERS DO NOT WANT:
1. Supreme Court Justices with liberal agendas!!
2. Amnesty for ILLEGAL immigrants - we have laws for a reason, duh!
3. Spending like you have a money tree growing behind Capitol Hill- you don't!
4. Elected Republicans sitting on their ass doing nothing - when they had power before, they did nothing with it!!
What we DO want is:
1. Conservative Supreme Court Justices that will protect the sanctity of life and the Spirit of the Constitution
2. Responsible spending - remember that it is somebody else's money that ya'll have a duty to protect and use appropriately
3. Elected Republicans that will follow through with a conservative agenda!

I am so disgusted with the whole mess that this AM, my husband and I actually discussed the possibility of moving out of the country, not like Alec Baldwin and Robert Redford when they threatened to move and then didn't. We are actually considering our options.

I love my country. My ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and the War with Mexico. Two of them may have died at the Alamo - we have been unable to confirm this yet. But my point is that I do not take the idea of leaving lightly - THIS IS MY COUNTRY - THIS IS MY HOME - I AM AN AMERICAN AND A TEXAN, but my home is being hijacked by a bunch of lunatics and WE THE PEOPLE seem powerless to stop them.

No one worth a darn wants to run for office in this country anymore because the Congress is so corrupt and wildly out of touch with reality and the people that no sane, rational or respectable person wants to be affiliated with them. Meanwhile, they (the lunatics) sit on Capitol Hill and laugh because they know it is true.

I have to add a short commentary about the comment made by President Obama about Rush Limbaugh, "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done." The comment was made during a discussion about the BAILOUT - the latest in a long string of BAILOUTS.

Rush has managed to irritate and anger every liberal out there! They are totally getting their panties in a wad! For this reason, he is my hero!! I do not agree with Rush on every issue (in particular his position that he hopes Obama fails)and honestly I get a little tired of him constantly patting himself on the back, but he really can get the Dems in an uproar!! I think that we should all tune in and turn it UP!!! GO RUSH, GO!!

The first 11 Days

Well I can honestly say that I am not surprised about the events of the last week and a half. Obama has chosen a tax evader for the Secretary of the Treasury, allowed the Dems to add billions of taxpayer money in pork to the BAILOUT, continues to be an enabler to the corrupt practices of Wall Street and the big banks. is funding overseas abortions and has picked Tom Daschle (another tax evader) to head up the Department of Health and Human Services.

About the only thing I agree with Obama is the Superbowl. I am a lifelong STEELERS supporter and I am going to be cheering on my boys tomorrow night (Sorry, if you are a Cardinals fan!)!!

I am convinced that the STEELERS can hear me cheering all the way from Texas and it is my constant support and thirty years of LOVE that got them into the Superbowl!! Hey, a girl can dream, can't I ??

This is how I am coping with the the change of leadership - FOOTBALL - completely submersing my brain into something other than politics and finance; (I grew up in Odessa, Texas - the home of the Permian Panthers and the world famous Ratliff Stadium. Yes, we are football fanatics, but NO, Odessa is not the wide spot in the road full of ignorant rednecks portrayed in Friday Night Lights. Some of those rednecks are quite intelligent.) I am, however, wondering what will I do after the game?? There will be seven (count them, s-e-v-e-n) LONG months until next season. Don't get me wrong... I am completely grateful for the prolonged STEELERS season this year. But what about the next seven months? I guess I will just have to toughen up and deal.

There is a light in the headlines this week (besides the upcoming STEELERS big win this weekend). The GOP chose Michael Steele as the new Republican Party Chairman. I had posted about Michael Steele several months ago. On November 14, 2008, I posted these comments about him as someone to watch as a future GOP leader.

"Former MD LT Gov MICHAEL STEELE: VERY ACCOMPLISHED AND IMPRESSIVE.He obtained his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins and his JD at Georgetown University. Steele considered the priesthood and spent three years in seminary, but decided on a career in law before taking the vows. I heard Michael Steele this morning on FOX NEWS, I like what I am hearing from him. He said that Republicans do not have to become more like the Democrats to regain the trust of the Conservatives - they have to "get their act together and get back to the values, roots and principals of the Republican Party." He said that those that think they should move to the left are welcome to join the Democratic Party." I couldn't agree with him more!!

I think this is a step in the RIGHT direction for the party and is exactly what we need to rally the Conservative base. John McCain was too wishy-washy and too tight with Ted Kennedy in my view. Steele is someone that expresses the position that he is not willing to compromise his conservative values in an effort to become more palateable to the left. I used the phrase "Expressed" because obviously only time will tell if he is REALLY willing to follow through. I can not speak for everyone, but this is precisely what I want in party leadership, someone willing to take the heat and do what is right anyway.

Now if we can just convince SARAH to run in 2012, we will be all set!!
